Interesting village bylaw, given 65.8 percent of the population are of German, Polish, Italian or other non-English descent.
The spelling error may be the result of the sign maker drinking town water, for which former Mayor Chester Stranczek, current Mayor Robert Stranczek (son) and their Director of Water are being sued after lying to the EPA for 20 years about dry cleaning chemicals in the village well. The prosecutor wants $10,000 for each time they lied, which totals as many as 122.
Folks, we may have found the origin of the term “village idiot”.
