Progress Magazine Ad

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Revolution created the below ad for Progress Magazine. And by created I mean that we built the set in an abandoned space in Saint John–right down to the wallpaper. Then we lit the set, prepped the model, and shot the scene.

We wanted to spend some time creating an elaborate photo with a high fashion look that would jump off the page of a business magazine, and we’re pretty happy with the results.

We created a little time-lapse behind the scenes look for our Youtube channel.

The music in the video is by my buddy and Saint John artist Clinton Charlton. The song Words is from his 2009 album Parade and is available on iTunes.

Print efficiency from DDB

As a copywriter, I love ads that yank all the words out. DDB London needed to convey the efficiency of Volkswagen’s range of cars. So they did it in the most efficient way. (From www.bestadsontv.com)

Advertising and Honesty

Hotlinked

Pretty incredible advertisement to run on the side of a bus? Yup, especially if you’re the London Evening Standard.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and while I can’t say this line of advertising is going to save a paper—mostly because I think the issues with print are deeper than the quality of writing—you can’t deny it’s going to make people notice the new editor and a new direction for the publication.

I love it. It’s bold. It’s honest. And it’s definitely going to make people take note.
