Revolution Strategy to further diversify business, not bid on NB Tourism RFP

After carefully reviewing the New Brunswick Tourism and Parks RFP for Marketing Services, Revolution Strategy has made the very difficult decision not to seek renewal as the Province’s Agency of Record for tourism marketing.

While we agree with New Brunswick Tourism’s decision to consolidate marketing services, the specific details and requirements of the RFP do not fully align with Revolution’s short- and long-term business objectives. Over the past 10 years, we have steadily grown our capacity to offer our many clients a range of services, from marketing and public relations, to creative, digital and social media. With a highly talented team firmly in place, we have decided to focus on further diversifying our client base and business provincially, regionally and nationally.

This has been an especially difficult decision because we will need to part ways with four outstanding team members, most of whom work exclusively on the New Brunswick Tourism account. We are committed to providing many months of working notice to these people, and will do everything in our power to help them find new positions where they can continue to shine. We thank them for their hard work and dedication. We do not anticipate any further layoffs, and this will not affect our client work in any way.

Revolution will continue to provide exemplary service to New Brunswick Tourism for the duration of our current contract, until the end of June 2012. In fact, we are very excited about the campaign that we are currently developing to attract visitors here this summer. We will also ensure that we provide a smooth transition to the incoming Agency of Record.

We maintain a high degree of respect for the New Brunswick Tourism team and have been honoured to work with them since 2009. We are proud of our record and have enjoyed delivering award-winning work that has exceeded the key performance indicators by which we are evaluated every year.

It has been a privilege to promote this province to outsiders. New Brunswick is one of the most beautiful and unique tourist destinations in Canada and the world. We choose to live and do business here, and we are proud to call it home.

We wish New Brunswick Tourism all the best in the RFP process, and we wish all bidders good luck.

Sincerely,

Derek Riedle
